NA confirms safety of all personnel in UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon
KATHMANDU: All of the Nepali Army's (NA) members serving in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon are safe, the army has verified. "The army keeps in regular contact with its forces in Lebanon," said NA spokesperson Gaurav Kumar KC, adding that no personnel had been injured.
Even though NA soldiers are safe, the peacekeeping mission's everyday duties have been interrupted by occasional events in the area. KC underlined that the NA is dedicated to resolving any issues brought on by the current circumstance.
As circumstances in Lebanon change, the NA will follow instructions from mission headquarters and the United Nations. The goal of this cooperation is to guarantee the efficacy and safety of their operations.
At the moment, 877 NA members are participating in regional stability and security initiatives as peacekeepers with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
