Nepal-India border sealed ahead of by-elections in Ilam Constituency-2
KATHMANDU: The Nepal-India border will undergo a temporary closure starting from midnight today, ahead of the by-elections scheduled for Ilam Constituency-2 on April 28. The District Administration Office has issued a notice to seal the Indian borders across the district beginning at 12 AM tonight.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Indradev Yadav has affirmed that the border closure will remain in effect until midnight on the day of the by-election. Yadav emphasized that the sealing of the Indian border is aimed at ensuring the integrity and smooth conduct of the electoral process, fostering an environment conducive to clean, fair, fearless, peaceful, and effective elections.
