Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel seeks vote of confidence in Karnali Province
KATHMANDU: Today, Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel of Karnali Province is set to seek a vote of confidence. He has formally submitted a letter to the Province Assembly Secretariat, requesting a motion of confidence on April 25. This move comes as Chief Minister Kandel aims to solidify his position within the provincial government.
Rana Singh Pariyar, the Chief Whip of the Maoist Centre in the Karnali Province Assembly, has indicated that the decision to hold the confidence vote was made following negotiations to expand the cabinet. As part of this arrangement, the Maoist Center is expected to receive four ministries, paving the way for greater cooperation and support for Chief Minister Kandel.
Similarly, Tek Raj Pachhai, the Chief Whip of CPN-UML in the Karnali Province Assembly, has affirmed that there has been consensus among the power-sharing parties regarding the expansion of the provincial government and the allocation of ministries. This understanding suggests a collaborative effort among political stakeholders to bolster the functioning of the provincial administration.
