Xi Jinping to award national medals and honors ahead of China's 75th founding anniversary
At a ceremony this Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping is going to bestow honorary titles and national prizes in observance of the People's Republic of China's 75th anniversary of founding. This occasion aims to honor those who have played a significant role in the nation's growth and to draw attention to the notable contributions made by specific people.
The highest state awards will be given by Xi, the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, at Beijing's Great Hall of the People. The fact that this site is typically used for important state ceremonies emphasizes how important the occasion is.
As the ceremony began, senior official Cai Qi read aloud a presidential order signed by Xi listing the prizes and their winners. The event's goal is to recognize significant national achievements as well as contributions that enhance China's standing abroad.
Four of the recipients will get the coveted Medal of the Republic, which is the highest award granted by the state. In addition, Dilma Rousseff, the head of the New Development Bank and a former president of Brazil, will receive the Friendship Medal in recognition of her contributions to enhancing relations between nations.
To further recognize their outstanding accomplishments and commitment to the nation, ten people will receive medals bearing national honorary titles. China is dedicated to honoring those who advance its growth on the home and international fronts, and this ceremony is a monument to that devotion.
