PM Dahal and Speaker Ghimire meet to address parliamentary deadlock
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', and Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire convened at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar to address the ongoing deadlock in Parliament. Speaker Ghimire conveyed his concerns regarding the parliamentary obstruction, urging the Prime Minister to take the lead in resolving the impasse.
During the discussion, Speaker Ghimire underscored the disruptions caused by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, highlighting that even crucial resolutions, such as expressing gratitude to President Ram Chandra Paudel for presenting the upcoming year's policy and program, were hindered due to the obstructions.
The House of Representatives meeting aimed at extending thanks to President Paudel following the unveiling of the government's policies and programs was adjourned amid the obstruction by the Nepali Congress, further exacerbating the deadlock in parliamentary proceedings.
