Nepal Police reports 215 Road Fatalities in Just One Month
A report by Nepal Police has indicated that between May 15 and June 14 there were 215 accidents leading to fatalities in Nepal, which included 15 children, and 4,240 injuries, with 580 reported in serious condition. 4,416 automobiles were involved in 2,911 accidents, according to the data.
Motorcycles were the most common mode of transport and cars came in at a close second. Higher speed driving, driving while intoxicated, and jaywalking were identified as the most common causes of the accidents.
During that time, authorities collected 94.13 million rupees (approximately USD 689,519 USD) in fines for different traffic rule violations further highlighting public concern of road safety issues across the country.
