Indian AI Founder Accuses Soham Parekh of Deceiving Startups
American AI entrepreneur Suhail Doshi, one of the co-founders of Playground AI, accused Indian engineer Soham Parekh of working on four firms simultaneously, including ones financed by Y Combinator, in bad faith. He dubbed Parekh a "scammer" and fired him within a week. Doshi also shared Parekh's resume where he listed jobs at Dynamo AI, Union AI, Synthesia and Alan AI, although Doshi noted that almost all of it he "probably 90% fake".
In response, Parekh confessed to moonlighting, telling that he was working 140 hour weeks because of his financial situation--but insisted that he individually completed the tasks and that he did not use AI nor outsource work. The controversy has launched a bigger discussion in the tech community about questions of ethics, remote work oversight, and overemployment.
