PM Dahal calls for educational reforms to stop brain drain
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' underscored the urgency of implementing timely reforms in the educational curriculum to prevent brain drain. Speaking at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of Purbanchal University, he emphasized the need for significant changes in the curriculum to instill a sense of national commitment among youth, encouraging them to contribute to the nation's development.
PM Dahal highlighted the importance of prioritizing technology-based innovation and research in the curriculum, emphasizing the integration of professional education with national prosperity. He emphasized the crucial role of youth in achieving national prosperity, advocating for youth-focused entrepreneurship, innovation, and employment generation through human resource development.
Acknowledging the potential contribution of Nepal's youth, who constitute 40 percent of the total population, PM Dahal called for harnessing this demographic dividend. He emphasized the necessity of transforming the existing educational system to address educational unemployment and provide technical and skill-oriented education to students.
Furthermore, PM Dahal emphasized the government's commitment to improving access to quality healthcare and education. He urged Purbanchal University to expedite the establishment of a medical college to provide quality healthcare services to the local community. Highlighting his initiative in granting permission for the medical college, he pledged to ensure affordable and quality healthcare services for the region in the near future.
