Nepal reports over 2,000 dengue cases in 73 districts
KATHMANDU: Over 2,000 dengue cases have been reported across Nepal's 73 districts. Dr. Gokarna Prasad Dahal, Chief of Vector Control Disease at the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division reported that a total of 2,061 cases have been confirmed. Humla, Jumla, Mustang, or Dolpa are the only districts with no cases reported. The Ministry of Health predicts a potential rise in dengue cases with favorable conditions for mosquito reproduction, due to significant rainfall expected this year.
Kathmandu District has reported the largest number of infected, with 249 reported cases. The Kathmandu Valley, which includes Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur, has recorded a total of 316 cases, 249 in Kathmandu, 38 in Bhaktapur, and 29 in Lalitpur.
In order to stop the spread of dengue, Dr. Dahal has asked everyone to take the appropriate precautions. With the potential of an increase in cases, it is essential that individuals take preventative measures and be informed about the issue.
