KMC launches 24/7 hotline to provide advice for suspected dengue cases
KATHMANDU: The Management, Health, and Operation Control Division of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office has announced 1180 as the free line to provide advice and assistance for suspected dengue cases. This effort has been necessitated by the fact that long rains increase the breeding season for mosquitos that transmit the disease. The 24-hour helpline attempts to educate and support residents in preventing dengue.
Dengue coordinator for KMC Rishi Bhusal stressed the value of calling the hotline with any questions or concerns about the illness. Apart from the hotline, the KMC has established a free ambulance service that may be contacted at 102 in case of a dengue-related emergency. To guarantee prompt medical help, this service is overseen by the KMC Office.
The KMC has organized medical professionals and female health volunteers to raise awareness of dengue and its preventive measures in an effort to further address the disease's danger. Bhusal pointed out that these initiatives are part of a larger plan to control the risk and safeguard the general public's health throughout the wet season.
