KMC Health Department padlocks pharmacies at TU Teaching Hospital over violations
KATHMANDU: On Thursday, the Health Department of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) took action by padlocking two pharmacies situated within the premises of TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. Acting Chief Sajina Maharjan disclosed that both Panorama Pharmacy and Panchakanya Pharmacy were shut down due to reported violations of regulations, following complaints received.
The Department's inspection revealed multiple infractions, including inadequate temperature control for vaccines, unauthorized sale of narcotic drugs, and breaches in storage standards within these pharmacies. Maharjan emphasized that an investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the appropriate measures that can be taken against the implicated medicine shops.
