New blood bank operational at Bharatpur Hospital
KATHMANDU: A new blood bank has recently commenced operations at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, marking a significant step forward in healthcare services for the region. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Renu Dahal, the Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, who expressed optimism about the positive impact of the blood bank on patient care.
Mayor Dahal emphasized the importance of the blood bank in meeting the high demand for blood among patients receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital. She noted that the hospital serves a large number of patients, and having a blood bank onsite would streamline the process of accessing blood for medical procedures.
Highlighting the challenges faced by the hospital, Mayor Dahal acknowledged the existing deficiencies in infrastructure, staffing, and equipment. However, she reassured attendees that the metropolitan city was committed to collaborating with the hospital to address these shortcomings and enhance its services.
The newly established blood bank, located in Block ‘B’ of the hospital, has an initial capacity to store 200 units of blood. This development is expected to significantly improve the hospital's ability to meet the blood transfusion needs of patients and contribute to better healthcare outcomes in the region.
