Instagram will now let you schedule and pin DMs
Instagram has introduced several new features to improve the direct messaging experience. Users can now plan their messages in advance and define them to be sent at any time within the next 29 days. Additionally, they have the option to pin up to three messages at the top of a chat for quick access.
Meta designed these updates to improve communication, particularly for those in different time zones, and to ensure important messages remain visible in active group conversations. Other new features include the possibility of inviting friends to group cats via QR codes and a message translation tool supporting 99 languages. This translation function allows users to display messages in their favorite language as if they were originally sent in this way. Another exciting addition is the possibility of sharing music directly in the application. Friends can listen to the same song at the same time or at different times without leaving Instagram.
This feature of music co-use is also available on broadcast channels that act as a public flow of messages that are primarily used by creators for one communication with subscribers. It is unclear whether all features will be applied to the broadcast channel, but global deployment of these updates begins today.
