Flight operations resume at TIA after runway repairs
KATHMANDU: Flight landings at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have resumed after the completion of repairs on the runway, which had been affected by potholes. Both domestic and international flights had been temporarily suspended due to the damage.
According to TIA Spokesperson Subas Jha, flight operations were halted for approximately 45 minutes while the necessary repairs were conducted. Jha confirmed that all domestic and international flights were temporarily stopped during this period. However, following the completion of the repairs, flight landings have now resumed at the airport.
The temporary suspension of flight operations was implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of aircraft and passengers. With the repairs completed, normal flight operations have been restored, allowing flights to resume their scheduled landings at TIA.
