Google may be close to launching YouTube Premium Lite
YouTube is preparing to roll out more affordable premium light subscription services in the US, Australia, Germany and Thailand, Bloomberg reports. This new plan is primarily intended for users viewing music content, but the exact price will not be resolved. Earlier, YouTube checked a similar level without advertising, called Premium Lite in European countries elected in 2021, but the plan was arrested in 2023.
However, in October, YouTube confirmed that he had experienced the new version of Premium Lite, which included limited advertising. An Australian user said it has a price of USD 8.99 per month compared to the AUD, which is $16.99 at the regular YouTube price.
Representative of YouTube Paul Pennington said the company is testing premium plans that offer a free experience on most videos. He also said YouTube would like to expand this offering further with support from its partners, but details regarding US launches and pricing remain unclear.
