Varied weather conditions forecasted across Nepal
KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has issued a weather forecast indicating partly cloudy conditions in the hilly areas, specifically mentioning the Koshi and Madhes provinces, while the Terai region is expected to experience generally clear skies. In the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, the weather is predicted to be partly cloudy, with mainly fair conditions prevailing in the rest of the country.
There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at select locations in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, with isolated occurrences in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. Furthermore, there is a possibility of light snowfall in selected high-hilly and mountainous areas in Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, and Karnali provinces, with fair conditions elsewhere in the country. Light rain accompanied by thunder, gusty winds, and lightning may occur in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Over the next 24 hours, thunder and lightning are forecasted at a few locations in the hilly region of Koshi province and at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Given the possibility of snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, authorities have advised residents to remain vigilant due to potential impacts on various aspects of daily life, including health, agriculture, mountaineering, tourism, road, and air transport. The current temperature in the Kathmandu Valley is recorded at 19 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius today, as per the Department's forecast.
