NC general secretary challenges KP Oli to substantiate allegations
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has challenged CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to provide evidence supporting his claim that the NC sold land from the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate in exchange for commissions. Sharma issued this challenge during a workshop focused on the Nepal Women's Association's future action plan for enhancing gender equality, held in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Sharma emphasized the need for an official investigation, including the establishment of a probe committee, to examine whether any land transactions involving commissions took place. He criticized Oli for making unsubstantiated allegations and argued that it is not the responsibility of the NC to address baseless accusations.
During his address, Sharma stated, "You are aware of our commitment. Recently, KP Comrade alleged that the NC sold 91 bighas of land from the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate and accepted commissions. This illustrates the intensity of KP Comrade's fervor. However, I hold both KP Comrade and my district leaders in high esteem."
General Secretary Sharma expressed his respect for both Oli and NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, acknowledging them as esteemed leaders from his district.
