Five ambassadors sworn in at Sheetal Niwas ceremony
KATHMANDU: Under the oath of office and secrecy, President Ram Chandra Paudel swore in five newly chosen ambassadors on Wednesday at the President's Residence, Sheetal Niwas. The appointments show how committed Nepal is to fostering better diplomatic ties with other countries.
Nepal will be represented in South Africa by Prof. Dr. Kapilman Shrestha, and Prakash Mani Poudel will be its ambassador to Portugal. Sumnima Tuladhar is in Denmark, Dr. Netra Prasad Timsina is in Malaysia, and Sewa Lamsal is in Belgium. These appointments demonstrate a deliberate emphasis on a range of global collaborations.
Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, the spokesperson for the President’s Office, provided details about the newly designated envoys. The selection showcases Nepal’s efforts to position experienced and capable representatives in key global roles.
Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, alongside other senior government officials, attended the swearing-in ceremony, underlining the significance of these appointments in Nepal’s foreign policy agenda.
