Two separate murders in Makwanpur and Sindhuli
KATHMANDU: On Monday night in Makwanpur, 28-year-old Mangal Bahadur Pakhrin killed his 18-year-old wife Laxmi Pakhrin in an axe attack. Pakhrin, who had previously struggled with mental illness, hit his wife in the head and neck. The couple reportedly participated in the vicious attack together with their 13-month-old daughter.
The 58-year-old man was killed by Amrit, the 21-year-old son of Lal Bahadur Ghimire BK, in another incident that happened in Sindhuli. When Ghimire was asleep, he was stabbed, and his body was examined at Sindhuli Hospital after he died. Amrit was apprehended by the authorities.
Though the precise motivations are still unknown, property distribution disagreements are thought to have played a role in Ghimire's murder. The police are still looking into the matter.
