Mother, 4 sisters murdered in Lucknow, son arrested
KATHMANDU: After a family argument, a young man named Arshad is accused of killing his mother and four sisters in a hotel room in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. According to police, Arshad gave the victims food tainted with alcohol prior to the assault. In relation to the crime, he has been placed under arrest.
The victims' woolen clothing was covered in blood and they had slash wounds on their wrists, both of which pointed to violent conduct. According to preliminary investigations, Arshad rendered his family members incapable of committing the murders by using the intoxicants.
The deceased was identified by the police as Arshad's mother, Asma, and his sisters, who were nine, sixteen, eighteen, and nineteen years old. Since December 30, the Agra-born family had been lodging at the motel. Authorities have started a hunt for Arshad's father, Badar because they believe he may have been involved as well.
According to Raveena Tyagi, the chief of police in Lucknow, the incident most likely resulted from a furious dispute among the family. She went on to say that after the investigation is over, further information regarding the motivation will surface. To obtain more proof, the bodies have been sent for post-mortem investigations.
The police were alerted shortly after the crime was committed and promptly showed up at the scene. The 24-year-old Arshad was apprehended at the hotel to stop him from fleeing from custody.
Authorities are actively assembling the facts and motives behind the horrific act while locals and law enforcement cope with the shock of such a devastating family tragedy.
