One-way traffic resumes on Araniko Highway after 14-hour landslide blockage
KATHMANDU: One-way traffic on the Araniko Highway has resumed following a 14-hour closure due to a landslide at 50 kilometers in the Panchkhal municipality of Kavrepalanchowk. The landslide that happened last night made it difficult to remove the debris since it continues to occur from the upper section of the road.
The District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, reported that two machines were deployed starting at 7 AM to remove the debris, successfully clearing the road for one-way traffic. DSP Raj Kumar Shrestha, the spokesperson for the District Police, stated that efforts to clear the remaining debris and restore two-way traffic are ongoing under police supervision.
