National Disaster Risk Reduction Authority bans night bus operations in 56 Districts
KATHMANDU: For the nights of September 27 and 28, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has declared that night bus operations will not be permitted in 56 districts. This decision was made in reaction to the likelihood of more catastrophic situations because of the anticipated high rains.
This night bus travel restriction is warranted due to the possibility of severe weather, according to the central command post for monsoon readiness and response. During this period, the authorities want to make sure that everyone is protected.
From Thursday through Sunday, there is expected to be strong to extremely high monsoon rainfall, prompting the authority to issue several preventive measures. The goal of these steps is to reduce the hazards brought on by the predicted extreme weather.
It has been particularly instructed by the authority not to harvest rice during this time. If your crops have already been harvested, store them right away to avoid damaging them in the upcoming rainy season.
Along with crop-related safety measures, the authorities recommended against storing grains in-ground ponds, particularly in the Terai and Madhesh regions. People are encouraged to use caution, especially around streams and in places that are prone to landslides.
The authorities have also made it illegal to fish or gather firewood along riverbanks during this time, emphasizing the significance of exercising extra caution and taking safety precautions as the monsoon approaches.
