Kupondole road reopens after pipe burst repair
KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement on the road section at Kupondole, which collapsed on Saturday due to a pipe burst from the Melamchi Drinking Water Project, resumed today at 9 AM following repairs. The road had been blocked since the incident occurred in the afternoon.
Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited began repairs on the broken pipe starting Saturday evening, while the Road Division Office also undertook road repair efforts.
Although vehicles can now pass through, Supervisor Nirajan Pandey from the Road Division Office mentioned that immediate blacktopping of the road is not yet feasible.
