Karnali Corridor road reopens after landslide clearance efforts
KATHMANDU: The Karnali Corridor road, which had been blocked since Saturday morning due to landslides, has been reopened for operation starting today. The section connecting Humla from Khulalu in Kalikot was obstructed by landslides at Lapha in Pachaljharana Rural Municipality-8.
Arjun KC, chief of the District Police Office, reported that the highway was cleared with the joint efforts of police personnel, locals, and elected representatives. As a result, traffic has resumed on the road since this morning.
Authorities have prohibited cars from operating on the roadway at night due to the increased danger of floods and landslides along the Karnali Corridor during the monsoon season.
