President Paudel hosts farewell for Nepali athletes heading to Paris 2024 Olympics
KATHMANDU: At a ceremony today at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, President Ramchandra Paudel said goodbye to the Nepali athletes who would compete in the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024. He urged the athletes to compete with great spirit, stressing the importance of sports in raising the country's profile abroad.
President Paudel expressed confidence that the athletes would enhance Nepal's prestige and advised them to approach the Games with dedication and determination. He also presented the National Flag to Tanka Lal Ghising, the Chef de Mission for Nepal at the Olympics.
Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary, also extended best wishes to the athletes, urging them to perform with confidence and give their best. The farewell event was attended by Minister Chaudhary, Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, and other participants and instructors associated with the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
