Police seize 2 trucks and goods worth Rs 20 million for customs evasion
KATHMANDU: Police have seized two trucks carrying goods valued at approximately Rs 20 million, which were imported illegally by evading customs duties. The trucks were intercepted at Dry Port Chowk, Birgunj Metropolitan City-25, on suspicions of smuggling from India.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Bharati reported that the seized goods include cashew nuts, carom seeds (Jwano), and electronic items, totaling Rs 18.26 million. The trucks involved are numbered Na 5 Kha 2912 and Na 3 Kha 7727.
Both the trucks and the goods have been handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation in Pathlaiya for further examination and investigation.
