Delays in Chabahil-Kalanki road project affects commuters
KATHMANDU: The construction of the Chabahil-Kalanki road section in Kathmandu, which commenced a decade ago as part of the Chakrapath Ring Road expansion, is currently experiencing significant delays. These delays have resulted in adverse conditions for road users throughout different seasons. During the winter, the road turns into a dusty track, while in the monsoon, it becomes muddy, leading to damage to both infrastructure and inconvenience for pedestrians, vehicles, and the general public.
The prolonged delay in completing the construction has exacerbated these challenges, causing ongoing disruptions and hazards to daily commuting and overall public mobility in the area.
