Sushil Pyakurel expresses dissatisfaction with appointment as Ambassador to South Korea
KATHMANDU: Sushil Pyakurel, who was recently recommended for the position of Ambassador to South Korea, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the appointment. The recommendation, made last Friday, June 21, came from the CPN-UML quota.
Sources close to Pyakurel have indicated that he has already communicated his discontent to the secretariat of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ through a letter. Pyakurel stated, “I am dissatisfied; I am consulting about it. You will know everything shortly,” highlighting his disapproval.
He declined the ambassadorial position, citing several reasons for his decision. Among them were the lack of prior consultation with his family and the absence of a prior agreement regarding the nomination.
