Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah seeks vote of confidence
KATHMANDU: On Wednesday, the province parliament is expected to consider a vote of confidence for Kamal Bahadur Shah, the recently appointed Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province. With the assistance of the CPN-UML, the Nepali Congress (NC), and the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Shah took office on August 10 and asked the Province Assembly Secretariat to set up the poll.
The provincial assembly, comprising 53 members, requires Shah to secure the support of 27 members to form a majority government. Shah is expected to receive backing from 18 NC members, 11 UML members, and seven from the Nagarik Unmukti Party, totaling 36 supporters. This alignment positions Shah to comfortably achieve the necessary majority for his leadership.
