RSP MP Sobita Gautam alleges verbal abuse during visit to flood-damaged area
KATHMANDU: During her visit to Kageshwari Manahara Municipality-6 in Kathmandu on Sunday evening, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Sobita Gautam reported verbal abuse. While assessing the damage caused by recent floods and landslides, Gautam came into animosity from a group of young people in the neighborhood.
Gautam said she was surrounded by 15 to 20 young individuals, some of whom looked to be under the effects of alcohol and marijuana, in her statement to the House of Representatives. She reportedly begged the group to stop, but they ignored her and continued to yell insulting words at her, calling her "dirty."
Gautam expressed frustration at the lack of response to her pleas and suggested that the incident might have been influenced by a young leader from a national political party. She questioned whether the party would take responsibility for the actions of these individuals but did not identify the specific party involved.
