Prachanda hints at potential arrest of former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane
KATHMANDU: The chairman of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has made hints that Rabi Lamichhane, the former home minister, would soon be arrested. This proposal was put out by the opposition party leaders at their meeting on Friday morning.
Prominent representatives from the Maoist Center, CPN-UML, and Nepali Congress attended the conference. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the matter concerning Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Lamichhane were among the significant topics they discussed at their meeting in Baluwatar.
After hearing Prime Minister KP Oli's comments during the talks, Prachanda voiced reservations about the government's objectives. He hinted that it seems like the government is getting ready to act against Lamichhane.
Prachanda said, "The arrest can happen in a day or two," emphasizing the urgency of the situation, according to a leader who was present at the meeting.
In the larger framework of Nepal's continuing political dynamics, the talks reveal a developing strain over Lamichhane's political status and the possible consequences for his party.
