HoR to fast-track Transitional Justice amendment bill today
KATHMANDU: The Transitional Justice (TJ) amendment bill will be passed quicker through a fast-track process when the House of Representatives (HoR) meets this afternoon at 1 p.m. The Parliamentary Committee deliberated for a long time before presenting the measure on Tuesday, which aims to alter the Investigation, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2071.
The discussion of the bill will be facilitated by Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya. Leading political personalities, including Prime Minister KP Oli, President Sher Bahadur Deuba of the Nepali Congress, and Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, are expected to address the move.
Should the House of Representatives adopt the bill today, it will proceed to the National Assembly for tomorrow's (Thursday) passage.
