HoR passes Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Bill with majority vote
KATHMANDU: On Wednesday, the House of Representatives (HoR) passed the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Bill. The bill, which aims to amend the Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act (third amendment) – 2079 BS, was presented by Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya and was endorsed with a majority vote.
The only dissenting vote came from Prem Suwal of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP). The bill's approval marks a significant step in advancing the process of truth and reconciliation in Nepal.
