Education Minister accuses CPN-UML Chair Oli of government disruption over teacher reforms
KATHMANDU: Education Minister Sumana Shrestha has accused CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli of attempting to change the government when she sought to take action against teachers involved in politics. In a Facebook post directly addressing Oli, Minister Shrestha stated, “Respected KP Ba! You claimed that the SEE results were poor because the teachers did not teach well. When I attempted to take action against the politically active teachers, you wanted to change the government.”
Recently, during a program in Butwal, UML Chair Oli had commented that the teachers' inadequate teaching was responsible for the unsatisfactory SEE results. This remark has sparked criticism and political tension.
In a similar political event, the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress formed an alliance against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's cabinet and set up a new administration.
