The first boat race of Fewa lake(Dragon Boat Race0 is planned for June 14th
The competition was announced by the Association's President, Balram Giri, which is going to occur on this organization's 30th Establishment Day, bringing in an entire day filled with loads of fun and entertainment.
The program will be held on 14th June and the main objective is to promote Pokhara tourism. Besides, there will be separate categories for men and women wherein three members in each would constitute a team. Moreover, only wooden pontoons will be used during competitions. Participation fee will be Rs 300 per team including participation from locals and international competitors.
Courses of action will be chalked out for those missing boats, promise the organizers. The men's teams will race over a distance of 2100 meters, while it will be 1500 meters for women. Prizes include Rs 30,000 for the first-place men's team, with Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 for moment and third put, separately, as announced. Women's winners will get Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000 along with certificates bimagin.
It has a budget of Rupees 240,000 projected; the balance, as envisaged by President Giri, would be utilized for cleaning Fewa Lake.
