Death toll from landslides and floods reaches 217 and 28 still missing
KATHMANDU: The latest update from Home Ministry Spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari states that 217 people have died as a result of the recent landslides and flooding brought on by the ongoing monsoon, while 28 people are still missing. Moreover, these natural calamities have resulted in 143 injuries.
All security agencies have been fully deployed to conduct relief, search, and rescue operations in order to guarantee that those affected receive aid. Many local hospitals are providing care for the injured.
Along with providing flood and landslide victims with emergency relief supplies, the government is giving priority to search and rescue operations.
In an effort to facilitate the transfer of aid and restore access, efforts are also being made to clear the roads that the catastrophes closed.
The administration is keeping a careful eye on the continued effects of the floods and landslides while concentrating on relief and recovery operations, but the situation is still dire.
