U.S. Deports 10 Nepali Nationals on Charter Flight today
KATHMANDU: Ten Nepali nationals who had been residing in the US illegally have been deported. These people were transported in on a charter flight that landed at 10 AM, flown back to Kathmandu, and dropped off at Tribhuvan International Airport. The aircraft took off from Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire, USA, and arrived in Kathmandu straight.
The Trump administration's policy of expelling unauthorized immigrants is consistent with this expulsion. With this most recent deportation, there have now been 37 Nepali nationals removed from the United States on Trump's orders, including 27 who had already been sent back to their homeland. However, rather than being deported to third countries, this is the first time Nepali nationals have been taken back to Nepal and dropped off directly.
The charter flight that brought these Nepali nationals back to Nepal is expected to carry some U.S. citizens on its return journey.
