Nvidia is adding a native GeForce Now app to Steam Deck
Nvidia has announced intentions to introduce a native GeForce Now app for Steam Deck later this year, according to a recent blog post. While it's already possible to configure GeForce Now on Steam Deck using a custom script provided by Nvidia, the upcoming native app will simplify the installation process and offer improved features. Users will enjoy up to 4K resolution at 60 fps with HDR support, particularly when connecting their Steam Deck to a TV.
In addition to this, Nvidia is also expanding GeForce Now to support popular VR headsets, including the Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and Pico virtual- and mixed-reality devices. With the release of GeForce Now version 2.0.70 later this month, VR users will be able to access a vast library of games via the platform's web browser at play.geforcenow.com.
Additionally, Nvidia has confirmed that two major Microsoft games will join the GeForce Now lineup this year. Avowed, an eagerly awaited RPG, is set to launch on February 18th , and DOOM: The Dark Ages will arrive later this year. These additions will further bolster the service’s appeal by bringing high-profile games to Nvidia’s cloud gaming platform. Through this development, Nvidia continues to push its cloud gaming services into new hardware ecosystems, making it easier for users across devices, whether handheld, connected to a TV, or VR device, to get high-quality streaming gaming experiences.
