Aiper's smart sprinkler focusses its spray on a map of your lawn
Aiper unveiled the IrriSense Smart Irrigation Sprinkler at CES 2025, a new smart irrigation solution designed to be as easy to install as a traditional lawn sprinkler, while providing advanced features to save water and optimize lawn care. Unlike traditional systems that require buried pipes and additional equipment at the faucet, the IrriSense sprinkler is an all-in-one device that requires no complicated installation.
It comes with a 33-foot waterproof power cord that plugs into a standard outlet, but users must bring their own garden hose that is long enough to reach the faucet. Aiper claims that installation takes about 15 minutes and includes securing the unit with four stakes for easy removal for moving or lawn maintenance.
The sprinkler's water jets reach 39 feet with an oscillating motion and can cover a maximum area of 4,300 square feet. Through the Aiper mobile app, users can customize spray patterns by manually mapping specific areas in their yard. This helps avoid overspraying and reduces water consumption by ensuring water only reaches where it’s needed, such as bypassing sidewalks or other non-lawn areas.
Scheduling treatments is easy via the mobile app, but IrriSense goes a step further with built-in sensors that monitor soil moisture and integrate with weather data – for example, if your lawn is sufficiently wet from recent rain, the sprinklers will automatically skip scheduled waterings to avoid overwatering. The device also supports individual soil sensors for even more accurate monitoring.
For larger lawns, multiple IrriSense sprinklers can be installed and automated to seamlessly expand coverage. Additionally, these sprinklers can be used to deliver liquid fertilizers or pesticides, making them a versatile solution for watering and maintaining your lawn. Aiper's IrriSense sprinkler offers a targeted, customizable, and eco-friendly approach to lawn care, making it an attractive option for homeowners looking to simplify watering while conserving water.
