Woman found dead in Dhanusha, husband arrested for alleged involvement
KATHMANDU: In Mithila Municipality, Dhanusha, the lifeless body of a woman was discovered on Sunday, bringing an end to the search for a resident of Shrireswornath Municipality-5, Dhanusha, who had been missing since June 8. The body, identified as that of 27-year-old Rubi Yadav, was found discarded near the river bank of the municipality's community forest. Ranjan Awale, spokesperson for Dhanusha Police, confirmed the identification of the corpse, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the grim discovery.
Authorities at the Area Police Office, Sakhuwaa, disclosed that Rubi's husband, Raju Yadav, emerged as a suspect in her murder investigation. Raju was taken into custody by law authorities on Thursday after he confessed to the crime. The sequence of events leading to the arrest began when Raju reported Rubi missing on June 8, 2024, prompting police scrutiny into the matter. Suspicion intensified against Raju, particularly fueled by testimonies from neighbors implicating him in Rubi's demise.
Subsequent interrogation of Raju revealed chilling details of the crime. According to police statements, Raju admitted to escorting Rubi to Aurahi Baba's temple on June 8, 2024, where he purportedly committed the murder. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding Rubi's tragic death, with her body undergoing postmortem examination at the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur.
