Two foreign nationals arrested with 1.4 kg of cocaine
KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have apprehended two foreign nationals, Zuma Abdulla Maji from Tanzania and K Juchobeni Tasopoi from India, for possessing 1.4 kilograms of cocaine. A team from the Narcotics Control Bureau caught the two individuals in Kathmandu during a drug trafficking operation.
The Tanzanian national was found with 80 capsules of cocaine hidden in a bag at a hotel in New Baneshwar, while the Indian national was arrested during the drug exchange. According to Deputy Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki, the confiscated cocaine is valued at approximately Rs 38.7 million in the black market.
The police have extended their custody remand with permission from the District Court in Kathmandu, as investigations into their involvement in the narcotics trade continue.
