Two arrested in Chandrapur for possession of 47 counterfeit 1,000-rupee notes
KATHMANDU: In Chandrapur Municipality-10, two people were taken into custody Friday night on suspicion of having fake 1,000 rupee notes from Nepal. The suspects were arrested by the police; they were identified as Gadhimai Municipality-5 residents Ramkishor Patel, 36, and Santosh Upadhyaya, 40.
The arrests were made during a routine inspection by Dumariya area police office officers. When they stopped a motorcycle traveling from Chapur to Gaur, they discovered fake money with the license plate BR 55 J 8293.
To find out where the counterfeit money came from and whether there were any collaborators, authorities are presently looking into the matter further.
