KATHMANDU: In Biratnagar, a group of students ignited a government-owned vehicle, a Scorpio (Ko 1 Jha 644), in front of Mahendra Morang Multiple Campus. The incident unfolded while Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane was present in the city. The District Police Office, Morang, confirmed the arson attack on the vehicle, which belonged to the Koshi Province Planning Commission.

Prior to this incident, six students had been apprehended on Friday for allegedly assaulting security personnel in Rangeli Municipality. The students involved in the vehicle arson are reportedly demanding the release of all individuals who were arrested previously. The situation underscores ongoing tensions and protests among students, highlighting broader issues of discontent or grievances within the community.
