Police crack down on illegal gambling in Kathmandu with 29 individuals arrest
KATHMANDU: In a recent campaign against illicit gaming, Kathmandu police detained 29 people at two separate locations. The authorities' dedication to tackling gambling-related activities in the city is demonstrated by this operation.
Thirteen individuals were taken into custody by police on Tuesday night at the Tripura Sundari Hotel and Lodge in Mitranagar, Kathmandu. Law enforcement officers removed four cell phones and Rs 506,000 in cash from the scene during this operation.
In another raid, 16 people were taken into custody for gambling at Anita Rai's house, which is located close to Suncity Life Bakery 9 in the Kageshwari Manohara Municipality. The overall number of arrests made during the crackdown was influenced by this operation.
During these raids, police seized a total of Rs 642,500 in cash, 22 cell phones, and 17 bags. The magnitude of the illicit gaming operations occurring in the city is reflected in this noteworthy seizure.
Legal action against the detained individuals is currently pending, as confirmed by the Kathmandu Police Complex. This indicates the authorities' intention to uphold the law and discourage future gambling infractions.
