Nine Detainees Escape from Dhanusha District Police Office
KATHMANDU: Nine detainees escaped from the District Police Office in Dhanusha early Monday morning, between 3:30 am and 4:00 am. The prisoners broke the ventilation of the male detention cell, allowing them to flee, according to DSP Ranjan Awa, the spokesperson for the District Police Office.
One of the fugitives, Satyam Jha, was arrested shortly after the escape from Janakchowk in Janakpur. The police are continuing their search for the remaining eight escapees.
Numerous violations, including drug-related ones and indecent behavior, were among the reasons the detainees were being held. Their individual situations' specifics remained undisclosed.
There was supposedly a policeman on duty in the detention area at the time of the escape. In spite of this, the inmates succeeded in breaking through the cell's iron bars and escaping.
In the areas surrounding Dhanusha, the police have initiated a search operation and are actively following the fugitives. The status of the search operations has not been updated by the authorities.
Concerns about the security measures in place at the jail institution in light of the breakout have sparked an internal investigation into how the occurrence occurred.
As they pursue their efforts to capture the escaped prisoners, police are requesting that the public report any suspicious conduct or information regarding the fugitives.
