Foreign national arrested at TIA with 6.24 kg of cocaine
KATHMANDU: A foreign national, Evras Valters, a Latvian citizen, was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Wednesday for carrying six kilos and 24 grams of illegal cocaine. Valters, who arrived on a Qatar Airways flight, was detained by Narcotics Control Bureau officers in the airport's arrival hall. He is currently under investigation following an extension granted by the District Court Kathmandu.
In related drug enforcement activities, police also apprehended two individuals at the New Bus Park in Gongabu, Kathmandu. Pawan Kumar Mehta, 24, from Saptari Rajviraj Municipality-9, and Anil Pariyar, 27, from Udaypur Triyuga Municipality-7, were found with 15.5 grams of heroin, 40,000 in cash, and three mobile phones.
Additionally, two more arrests were made in Narephant, Kathmandu. Dharmendra Singh, 33, from Siraha Golbazar Municipality-6, and Anil Sah, 33, from Siraha Mirchaiya Municipality-5, were found with 640 milligrams of brown heroin and two mobile phones at their camp.
