Father arrested for killing 6-year-old son in Tarakhola
KATHMANDU: Tarakhola Rural Municipality resident Keshab Pun has been placed under custody for reportedly throwing his six-year-old son Kismat from a steep slope, killing him. Police responded to the incident last night shortly after it was reported by witnesses.
The police claim that Pun tossed his son into the Kathe Khola River from a hill close to the market area. As soon as authorities learned of the situation, they organized teams to look for the child. Unfortunately, after the tragedy, they were able to retrieve Kismat's body from the river.
The case has received a lot of attention because of the nature of the crime, which has raised concerns in the community regarding child protection and domestic abuse. Authorities expect to carry out more investigations to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
