CIB arrests 2 more in connection with 60 kg gold smuggling case
KATHMANDU: Two additional people have been taken into custody by the Nepal Police's Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in relation to the 60 kg of gold that was being smuggled. Manoj Shrestha, age 32, and Rupak Bhandari, age 32, both from the Bhaktapur district, were apprehended at the border between Nepal and India, according to CIB Spokesman SP Hobindra Bogati.
"These arrests are related to the ongoing investigation into the 60 kg gold smuggling case, and further investigation is underway," said Bogati. With these further apprehensions, the overall count of those held during the investigation's second phase now stands at 20.
