2 Tanzanian nationals arrested in Kathmandu with cocaine
KATHMANDU: Police in Kathmandu arrested two Tanzanian nationals, Ramadhani Simba Mwabumba, aged 52, and Twalib Kipevu Pashuwa, aged 56, on Saturday for possession of banned cocaine. The arrests occurred at Hotel Gallery in Thamel, a popular tourist area.
Ramadhani was apprehended in room number 204 of the hotel where police discovered 606.55 grams of cocaine concealed in 35 capsules inside a juice carton. Twalib was arrested in room number 205 of the same hotel with 641.21 grams of cocaine concealed similarly in 37 capsules within a juice carton.
The Kathmandu District Court granted the Anti-Narcotics Bureau a detention extension after their arrest so they could finish their investigation. The authorities are looking into the situation further.
