2 foreign nationals arrested in Kathmandu with 1kg of cocaine
KATHMANDU: Two foreigners have been arrested with one kilogram of cocaine. Fahimuddin Nasimuddin Ansari, a 23-year-old Indian citizen, and Ikechukwa Cyril Obodoifula, a 44-year-old Nigerian, were apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau team in Koteshwor from Thamel and Pinglasthan on July 16.
Ansari, who arrived in Kathmandu via Indigo Airlines from Mumbai, was found with cocaine in a Thamel hotel. According to Prem Bahadur Shahi, the bureau's information officer, the Nigerian citizen, Obodoifula, was arrested in Pingalasthan after Ansari revealed that he received the cocaine from him.
Obodoifula arrived in Nepal on July 16 on a Qatar Airlines flight. Investigations revealed that he had concealed the drug in a false bottom of his jacket and transferred it into a juice can after arriving from Qatar.
